- Lake O'Hara Lodge was erected by the Canadian Pacific Railway on the shore of Lake O'Hara, Yoho National Park, during the winter of 1925-1926. The following winter, cabins from the CPR camp in a nearby alpine meadow were moved to the lodge site. The lodge catered to hikers and climbers and was managed for over thirty years by Sylvia "Syd" Graves. In 1954, the CPR sold the lodge to Claude Brewster and Austin H. Ford of Brewster-Ford Mountain Lodges. Ford assumed sole ownership in 1958 and sold the lodge in 1975. Since 1976, Lake O'Hara Lodge has been operated by the Laub family of Banff. Currently, other partners include Tim and Leslee Wake.

- The Lux Theatre was a movie theatre established at Banff, Alberta, Canada in 1913 by entrepreneur Norman Luxton. It was managed for a time by his brother, George Luxton. The Christou family operated the motion picture theatre from 1925 until 1986 when it closed.

- Fonds consists of legal and financial records, including agreements with film distributors and ledger books; screening schedules, advertising material, sheet music, ephemera; photographic print by George Baracos showing interior view of the Lux Theatre, ca.1969, and motion picture titled "Ski Time in the Rockies," ca.1935. The sheet music was used by Naomi Keeley, pianist, to accompany silent movies screened at the Lux, ca.1928-29. The motion picture was shown many times at the Lux Theatre.

- The Mather family were boat house operators at Banff, Alberta, Canada. William Mather, 1868-1927, emigrated to Ontario from Scotland in 1880 and came west ca.1888 to work for the Eau Claire Lumber Company on the Spray River near Banff. He worked for Raymond M. Rooper's boat house business on the Bow River and, in 1899, purchased the business. The Mather business included steamer tours in the summer and also involved winter sports on the Bow River. William Mather and Margaret McRavey Mather had four children, Jennie, Leslie, Allan and Hazel. With William Mather's death in 1927, the family incorporated its interests as the Bow River Boat House Limited, with Allan Mather as manager. The operation expanded to Lake Minnewanka in 1939. - The Peter and Catharine Whyte Foundation is a charitable, non-profit organization that operates the Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies in Banff, Alberta, Canada. The Wa-Che-Yo-Cha-Pa Foundation, as the foundation was initially named, was founded and endowed by artists Peter and Catharine Whyte in 1958. It supported broad causes as well as acting as an agency for collecting and preserving cultural materials of the Canadian Rockies.
- In 1968, a building designed by Philippe Delesalle and known as the Archives of the Canadian Rockies opened at 111 Bear Street in Banff, providing accommodation for a regional archives, gallery and the Banff Library. After a major renovation and addition in 1993, the foundation now supports three collection and exhibition departments under the name of the Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies: Archives and Library, Art Gallery and Heritage Collection.
- Geographic collecting limits of the museum are the mountainous areas of Canada bounded by the 49th Parallel on the south, the Peace River on the north, the Front Ranges of the Rocky Mountains on the east and the Columbia Mountains on the west.

Video recording is of Banff Day 1997 by Eddie Hunter. 2 audio cassettes are a recording of the Clifford Jackson White memorial service held September 13, 2003 hosted by the Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies.
- Six sound and video recordings were made as part of the Fireside Chats at the Whyte program. These oral histories were conducted before a live audience at the historic Crosby home, Abegweit during the years 2012-2014. Interviews with Rob Crosby, Dorothy Carleton, Ralphine Locke, Don Mickle, Bridget Jones, Fran Drummond.

- Simon Hoyle, b.1949, was born and educated in England in mining engineering. After coming to Banff, Alberta, Canada while traveling in 1972, he made use of his "hobby" of photography by holding the photography concession at Sunshine Village for eight years. Hoyle studied photography at the Banff School of Fine Arts during the summers of 1973 and 1974. In 1978, he founded Moose Country Colour in Canmore, Alberta with Alex Graham and Vance Hanna and, in 1986, he established Simon Photography in Banff. Hoyle was joined in the business by associate John Bonner in 1991 and, in 1994, he sold to Bonner and moved with his family to New Zealand.
