History / Biographical
William (Bill) D. Hulbert worked for Calmont Oils of Calgary during the 1930s and was a frequent visitor to the Banff home of Calmont's owner, Jack Dallas. Hulbert and Calgary friends made several pack trips in the Kananaskis area, 1933-1935.

"The Trail of the Art Trio" is an account of a fourteen day packtrip by Alex Inglis, Roger Kerkham, and Tommy Bewick to Spray Valley, Mount Assiniboine Provincial Park and Kananaskis Lakes. "On foot in the Rockies" is an account by Bill Hulbert of a pack trip to Kananaskis Lakes and the Spray Valley. The parties described in these accounts met each other en route. Accompanied by photographs of these or similar pack trips.
