- White buckskin, decorated with beads and wool. One piece, folded and sewn, tapers from 17.8 at opening to 5.5 at bottom, red velvet edge ca 0.8 wide (very worn) red wool ca 1.0 wide runs full length along seam. 2 black velvet beaded strips ca 7.0 wide around case 16.0 and 40.0 from top. Open floral design trimmed with 2 rows white beads, velvet worn. Fringes ca 13.0 x 0.8 sewn along top edge of beadwork, grey and red wool string ca 7.0 long, bound by thin strips of rawhide are in pairs down the seam ca 7.0 apart. 14.0 long fringes or bottom, 2 of which are 2.3 wide and have scalloped edges.Re: Chris Bashford’s description and evaluation December 23, 1986: An Athabascan fringed, hide gun scabbard with two bands of multi-coloured floral beading on a black velvet backing, a strip of red stroud cloth with wool tassels running along its length down one side.
