The summer trip, made on horseback and by dogsled, began in Seebe, Alberta and ended at Lake Windermere, British Columbia, working through Banff National Park via Lake Louise, Abbot Pass, and the Lake O'Hara region. Includes scenic views of mountains, waterfalls, glaciers, camps, horses, dogs, and people - many of whom are reffered to by their initials or married names (in the case of some women). The hunting trip was possibly organized by Tom Wilson out of his Kananaskis Ranch. The party travelled north in the direction of the Saskatchewan River. Includes pictures of camps, horses, pack trains, snowfall, mountains, rivers, and people - does not include photographs of hunted animals. Also includes a single photograph of The Learned's House in Newbury Port, Massachusetts, enlargements from Rocky Mountain trips, and various cards from The Vincents and Florence Dibell Bartlett. - Kuwahara Sataro came to Canada in 1907 at Victoria but moved to Vancouver, B.C. shortly after arrival. In 1908, he was hired as an elevator boy at the Hotel Vancouver. Eventually he worked his way up to head bell man. Between 1912-1916, the CPR sent Kuwahara Sataro along with a group of Japanese workers to various CP hotels including the Banff Springs Hotel, Chateau Lake Louise and the Palliser Hotel in Calgary. Since the hotels were only opened during the summer months, Kuwahara Sataro spent most of his time in Vancouver.

- Fonds consists of 13 black & white copy negatives and prints taken by Kuwahara Sataro, accompanied by photocopies of album pages with identifications. Views include the Japanese bellhops at the Banff Springs Hotel, Chateau Lake Louise, scenes around Banff, ca. 1916.
