- Description
- A Christmas card using mixed media; craft, inlay, weaving and watercolour. There is a cutout in the card, squared on the top, but at the bottom, there are cutout watercolour silhouettes of a church and a roof top with a chimney. Behind the cutout there is a silver paper backing (2.0cmx9.20cm wide) and a loosely woven deep blue cotton piece of weaving measuring (2.0cmx9.20cm wide) that lets the silver backing show through. There is also a silver thread pulled through the weaving, vertically and horizontally, in a cross shape, simulating a star. On the viewer’s left the chimney and house are blue with a snow-covered white roof. The church on the viewer’s right has a blue and white spire with two yellow lights, one on the snow side, one in the shadow, showing through the spire. The snow-covered roof is white, the church is blue and an arch shaped window is painted yellow to simulate light showing through. The cutout is on a slope going up towards the church on the viewer’s right, making it seem like a bank of snow because the card is white. Underneath the cutout the word “NOEL” is printed in calligraphic letters in blue and grey. There is no backing on this card.
