Description
A pair of very long, brown varnished wood, jumping skis with metal bindings. Skis are thicker at the centre, tapering toward the tail and the tip which curves upward slightly and is carved into a lancet arch with a small protrusion at the point. Bottom of each ski has three tracking grooves, top has faint incised lines following the edges of the ski and forming an arch within the arch of the tip. Metal bindings consist of a large metal plate with toe brackets which secure boot by means of a thick leather strap which buckles over boot. A.L.&W. Mikro Skirite, Toronto , a small metal bracket with four slots for adjusting ski cable in front if large plate. "Kandahar" Made in Switzerland), a small bracket on either side of the middle edge of the ski with two hooks for the cable. Two large round holes joined by a slot which pass through the ski from one side to the other just beneath the large metal plate, have been plugged with wood and mastic of some sort. Note: a series of drilled holes approximately 12 cm. long are in front of the small cable adjusting bracket.

Face has screw on lens opening, manufacturer's plate and film speed adjuster, tripod hole. 2 lenses, 3 filters, 1 rubber cover, 2 extra view finder covers. Small book of instructions. (b) 25.7x20.0x14.9 dark brown leather covered case, leather handle centre top. Brass closure "Sesame" lock, 3 dials, leather carrying strap. 2 leather skeepers on each side. "Peter Whyte" embossed in gold centre top. Below "Boston" embossed in red. Inside of case shaped and lined with light green velvet.The camera box has a combination lock dial of the front. The code is 000DO NOT MOVE THE DIAL. A locksmith had to open it for us May 2017
