Crown at top. “V” within “G” at bottom of wreath. “1914-15” within banner at centre. Stamped on back is “60011 PTE. J. ASHLEY. 1/CAN: INF: BDE: H.Q.” Ribbon is red, white, and blue gradient. b) Round silver medal. Relief of naked man carrying sword on horseback stepping on a shield emblazoned with an eagle/dragon. “1914” and “1918” above figure. Obverse: side profile of man [King George V]. “GEORGIVS V BRITT: OMN: REX ET IND: IMP: around edge. Ribbon is blue, black, white, orange vertical stripes. Description
A collection of 12 military patches: a-c) three of Sergeant's stripes on Khaki, chevron shaped patches of heavy cotton twill fabric. A series of two, narrow 1.5 cm stripes of light brown flat, braided tape stitched in chevron shape on the patch. Khaki felt backingd-g) Four patches in the shape of an airplane propeller stitched in white satin stitch on black felt. White propeller is outlined with purple, and machine stitched through a backing of loosely woven, stiffened, gauze like material on the reverse of the patch. Short black threads around edge indicate that they were once sewn on a uniform. 7.5 cm x 2.0 cm. h-k) four square white fabric patches with stripes of blue and brown. Two have two stripes; two have 3 stripes. Patches made from loops of canvas. 6.0 cm x 6.5 cm. One has a safety pin inside. l) shoulder badge. White background with blue stitched border and “LEADER”. 6.5 cm x 2.0 cm.

A pair of commemorative silver bands that can be nailed onto a walking stick. The rectangular silver is shaped into a circular form, each end has two holes (.03cm from each edge, 1.50cm apart) to put nails through and attach it to a walking stick. The middle of the band has the Skyline Trail Hikers of the Canadian Rockies logo; a shield- shaped crest with the letters “SLTH” on top, a hiking boot crossed by a walking stick or alpenstock, and underneath it a “C”, the bottom of the walking stick passing between, and then the “R”. To the viewer’s right of the crest, inscribed on the bottom are the words “BIRKS STERLING”.
