There is a manufacturer’s white label sewn onto the black lace “ETIQUETTE SYNDICATE CANADA UNION LABEL” and then an “A” in a circle. To the left of that is the union logo”UNITED HATTERS CAP 7 MILLINERY WKRS UNION INT”. The pin is circular, silver with a large red rhinestone in the middle surrounded by seven smaller red stones.

Part of the hat band, viewer’s left, is shaped as a bow and sewn down; the gold-coloured cord is also shaped as a bow and sewn over the hat band. Above the bow, slightly to the left, are two air holes (1.5cm apart, surrounded by orange painted metal) for ventilation, however, the opposite two ventilation holes, viewer’s right, are missing the metal covering.
