- The Dionne Quintuplets [Annette, Emilie, Yvonne, Cecile and Marie Dionne] were born on May 28, 1934 to Oliva and Elzire Dionne in Corbeil, Ontario. The five identical sisters were kept in The Dafoe Hospital for the Dionne Quintuplets from 1935, under the care of Dr. Allan Roy Defoe. As children, the quintuplets became a massively popular tourist attraction and were used as poster children for a variety of brands and products. A public tourist site, "Quintland", was constructed near their birthplace, and for years the quintuplets were observed by visitors through one-way glass windows. One of the quintuplets, Emilie, died from a seizure at the age of 20. As of May 2019, two of the sisters are still alive: Annette and Cecile.

Clippings pertain to fundraising by the Girls' Sunshine Flower Club towards cancer research held during Silver Jubilee celebrations [for King George V] in Banff, and an annual Halloween tea event. Letter expresses thanks for a gift for the Dionne Quintuplets sent by the Flower Club, signed by Dr. Allan Roy Dafoe. One book of meeting minutes, dated 1940-1941, also contains meeting attendance logs at back for years 1940 - 1949. Second, larger meeting minutes book contains notes for years 1933 - 1940, as well as list of secretaries of the club for each respective year inside the cover.

- James Henry (Harry) McKid Bannerman - Born in Calgary on September 7, 1890. He resided in Calgary and trained in heating, plumbing and tinsmithing. He belonged to the United Association of Plumbers and Pipe Fitters. He married Clara Haugan (born in Norway in 1890) in 1918. They had two girls, Ethel in 1919, Marjory 1921 before moving to Banff in 1923. Three more children arrived, Rundle 1924, Daphnie 1930 and Joyce in 1932. He carried on his trade in his shop on Bear Street. He had great machinery for making heating ducts, down spouts, elbows and eaves troughing out of tin. He also worked with copper sheeting for kettles, pots, wash tubs, coal scuttles, bath tubs, and a church spire. He crawled under homes to fix leaks and kept things moving. Harry was a volunteer fireman for twenty odd years. When he retired because of poor health the fire department gave him a beautiful recliner chair. He also served on the town council for many years, the last few as chairman. He retired in 1949. Harry was a member of the Southern Alberta and Oldtimers Associations and the Independent Order of Oddfellows. He was a staunch conservative and his sister Reta Crick was a staunch liberal. His son Rundle predeceased him in 1948 and his wife Clara in 1949. Harry passed away June 15, 1950.
- Joseph McKay Bannerman - Born 1851, came to Calgary in 1883. He served on city council then served four years as representative for Calgary in the Northwest Territories Legislature Assembly. Joseph and his wife Christina (born 1857) have their names moulded on the archway at the Southern Alberta Pioneers Memorial Building. Christina passed away in 1907 and in 1908 Joseph moved to Banff. He found work in town and later remarried. They had two girls, Evelyn and Thelma Mary and lived on the corner of Otter and Buffalo Street across from the cemetary. Joseph died in 1932 and Emma went back to England.

- Bruno Engler's Veteran's Race was initially hosted by Bruno Engler at the Sunshine Village ski resort in Banff in 1967. In its earlier years, Bruno Engler would complete the downhill track first, and would use his recorded time as a benchmark for participants to beat. Engler participated in the race for many years. The race was typically divided into several competition categories by age range and men's and women's races. Following a day of races, there is an awards ceremony held each year for participants. Bruno's ski race, renamed the Bruno Engler Memorial Ski Race after Bruno's passing in 2001, is currently "the longest consecutively running annual ski race in Canadian history". 2019 marked the 53rd annual race, which was held at Cascade Mountain. In recent years, the "Bruno Engler Family Fun Race", an additional race for parents and children, has been added as part of the original event.

- Fonds consists of 30 cm of textual and visual records previously held in 3 manuscript boxes, and 1 briefcase belonging to Bruno Engler. Contents have since been rehoused and processed in 3 manuscript boxes under M559, and one manuscript box each under V783/PA and V783/NA. Fonds consists of two series: Series I : 1952 - 1990 Series II : 1991 - 2016 Bruno Engler Memorial race committee information, race results and Bruno Engler's personal papers originally held in his personal briefcase. Also included are photos of the races and awards - these photos were held in Bruno's briefcase along with his own files. Briefcase from accession has been transferred to Heritage. Textual records (M559) range from 1952 to 2016 [includes documents from every year excluding 1953 - 1966] and pertain to annual ski races. Include meetings/agenda notes, ephemera, handwritten notes, registration forms, mailing lists, race results, and other relevant notes. [As 1967 was the ski race's first official year, items from 1952 are believed to be from a different ski event]. Visual records (V783) include 180 print photographs and 21 negative photographs/film strips depicting races, participants and award ceremonies [arranged by year]. - File consists of 5 cm of handwritten and typed correspondence, 23 x 34 cm or smaller. File pertains to correspondence between Carl Rungius and the Wardle family, as well as correspondence between Dorothy and Jon Whyte regarding gifting copies to the Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies. File documents, among other things, the death of Louise (Carl's wife) in 1940; exhibiting Carl's work in the National Gallery of Canada, 1942 and 1956; and Carl's visits to the Wardle family home in Ottawa. Records also include a postcard and two Mayfair articles from 1943.
- Notes
- In 1983, Dorothy gifted photocopies of Carl's correspondence with her family. In 2003, the originals were donated as part of Dorothy's estate. The photocopies (accn. 5296) were discarded.
- Carl Rungius was a wildlife and landscape painter who frequented and had a studio in Banff. The Wardle family was good friends with Rungius.

- Cecil Robinson Philpott, d.1985, was an electrician Banff, Alberta, Canada. After coming to Banff in 1929, he worked for Canadian Pacific Hotels and later owned his own electrical contracting service. Philpott was active in numerous community organizations. He retired to Calgary, Alberta, ca.1980.
