- Description
- An ornate, engraved, gold pocket watch with separate winding stem. (a) watch, completely engraved around edge, stem bracket, and fob ring, with scrolled vines. Back textured with spiral crosshatching and plain shield shaped plaque at centre surrounded by engraved flowers and vines, gold framed front crystal opens. Porcelain dial beneath with delicate Roman numerals, a recessed circular second dial at bottom, and hair like wire hands. Back of case also hinged to open, ornately engraved plate beneath, two places for winding and setting hands. Marks: inside back cover, "18, hallmark, 21547", engraved plate, "F. Cooper, London, detached lever, thirteen jewels" . (b) winding stem, long, stemmed key with square hole in end to fit winding knobs, and oval shaped handle at top. Small ball around stem at middle allows key to be turned without twisting fob ring attached. Watch runs but hands cannot be set.

- An ornate, pressed copper box in shape of complex pointed arch with window opening in front; arch is composed of two convex shoulders, one atop the other, with the uppermost, smaller, reversing itself and becoming concave at the point; window opening in upper part of box follows this shape and is further defined at its edges with cut out curlicues, wall surrounding the window has pressed, relief flowers and symbols in a bed curlicues, and small holes pierced through; sides of box follow shape and are plain with a dovetailed joint at the bottom, copper double strap handle on either side across the middle (for hanging?); plain copper back is flat of glass loose inside box appears to once have sat on two small copper flanges (now broken off) just below the window.

- A very delicate Japanese teapot and five matching cups of fine white porcelain with orange and gold trim. Very detailed overglaze decoration of Japanese warriors dressed in ornate armour and kneeling beneath a tree. (a) teapot, very small, squat, round pot with thinly thrown spool handle attached near the top of the pot, and short tapering spout at right angles to it and ninety degrees around pot. Flat lid with steam hole sits inside small lip of pot glazed orange with gold floral decoration. Crescent shape on lid glazed similarly with orange flower painted in white part remaining. (b) five teacups, small deep bowls with trimmed feet and slightly flared rims. Inside completely white and undecorated, rim trimmed with orange band at lip and gold dots. Marks: on bottom of cups is a Japanese signature brushed in orange glaze.
