- A small dark brown leather case with a snap button (labelled “Waterbury Button Co.”) flap. The case opens flat and is lined with purple velvet on two sections to protect needles when the case is closed. The case is complete with six three-cornered stainless steel curved needles that are graduated in size, four flat needles graduated in size, and eight three-cornered needles curved at the tip in varying sizes. The needles are stuck through a padded band of the velvet lining.

- A collection of four sewing kits. (a) small, plaid egg, hollow, wooden egg painted plaid tartan with six gold lines longitudinally around and small gold symbol plus the name "Stuart", egg splits at middle to open, with small lip on top, and vertical dowel glued into top to hold small round spool of white and brown thread. Dowel hollow with removable lid and holds straight pins.(b) black leather, arge, flat, U-shaped black leather case with snapping tab at centre of rounded side, opens flat. Lined with blue fabric, and arc shaped strip of leather stitched to one side forming loops to hold various sewing tools, other side has large elasticized pocket, containing various cardboard bobbins of thread. Six brass snaps spaced evenly around curved edge close kit securely. Leather loops hold small scissors, an ivory bobbin with thread, a thimble, a small brown striped silk needle book, a tapestry needle, and a double eyed needle with blunt point. Marks: on underside of snap tab, "London Harness co., Boston, coat of arms." (c) blue leather, smaller, but shaped as (b), lined with blue fabric, with small leather pocket at each and inside holding thread bobbin and needle package, slits and loops on pockets hold small scissors and safety pins. Marks: stamped under snap tab, "made in Germany". (d) green cardboard , matchbook shape which holds a cardboard square wrapped with thread and a needle stuck through, and a cellophane envelope holding two white buttons and a gold safety pin.

Drawn and tied threads along top form slits through which a heavy, beige, silk cord drawstring is threaded. Two loop handles of same cord attached on inside. Lined with wine coloured silk. Flower basket and lion very delicately worked in cross stitch using linen as a canvas. Colours in bottom fringe pick up colours in embroidery and are different on each side of bag.

- A purse of blue grey silk with ivory battens at drawstring closure, and embroidered beaded figures of man and woman dancing. Purse is essentially a square with a panel along the sides and bottom for width, with a stiff panel inserted at the bottom between lining and purse. Top draws closed with a silver metallic cord through a short ivory batten on the front and back causing the bag to form two pleats on either side. Ends of cord have red and grey beaded loop tassels. Bag lined front, back and bottom with pink silk. Figures beaded on front of purse depict woman in yellow dress and man in green trousers and pink jacket holding top hat while they are dancing.

Pierced design has been worked through the linen by cutting and drawing out a certain thread, then following this line with stitching which is pulled tightly around counted bunches of thread. Design on one side is square windowpane, other side three horizontal lines. Pierced stitching follows sides of bag and along drawstring casing. Drawstring of cord made from loosely twisted linen threads, unlined.

Flat bag has on each side three stylized triangular trees made up of small green triangles and sitting in large blue pots which have been worked in cross stitch on coarse linen canvas. Twisted blue cotton cord handles are attached through small ivory rings covered with stitching and making a small hole at each side of the bag. Double handles are tied in bows at each side and together at top. Small, hollow, pointed sterling silver cone, awl? is tied through a small hole at the top by a narrower blue cord to one of the handles. Lined with green Japanese silk.
