Description
A khaki fabric sewing kit which rolls and ties around its contents. Heavy drill fabric is constructed with three pockets along its length, and turned hems along all edges, doubled white twill tie at middle of one end. Contains (a) yarn bobbin, cardboard square wrapped with grey yarn for darning. (b) needle book, flannel squares of fabric seamed together down centre forming 'pages' which are stuck with needles and safety pins of different sizes. (c) bag of buttons, muslin sack fastened with large safety pin, holds many khaki coloured buttons, metal stud type buttons, metal sew on buttons, a small cube of wax, and metal thimble ring, without bottom . (d,e) 2 skeins thread, waxed linen, black, and khaki coloured. Marks: Stamped inside flap, "S.S. Holden Ltd., 1942, Ottawa, Canada" in circle, stamped on outside is symbol which looks like a brand.
