Description: Two pairs of (chromium?) plated scissors. Each pair have short arms curved outward to form small finger loops, a screw hinge, and pointed blades that are slightly curved upward at the tips. a) A pair of small scissors with a serrated texture on the blunt edges of the blades. These scissors are marked “Premier U.S.A.”, inside of an oval, and with “21-75” on the opposite side.b) A second, slightly larger pair of scissors with sharper and more curved blades. These scissors are marked “Premier”, and “Life Time” inside of an oval, with “Italy” on the opposite side.

Dimensions: 15.0 x 6.2 cm

Description: A sewing basket or bag hand sewn from yellow print cotton. (a) the bag is print of floral bouquets on the outside, plain yellow cotton inside, a disc of card provides a bottom for the basket, and in the middle of it is an attached pin cushion corded to the card. Inside the bag are pockets which lap from the walls of the bag into which tape, buttons, etc., could be placed. Double draw strings can gather the bag to close it. (b) is a needle book of card covered with the same yellow floral print cotton and lined with plain yellow cotton, a cord holding in a piece of flannel into which needles can be placed. Never used, but there are a few pins in the built in pincushion, and a length of white satin ribbon in one of the pockets.

Dimensions: 8.5 x 24.5 cm

Description: A short, cylindrical, natural coloured basket with raffia flowers. Woven of coils of straw, stitched together with spiralling radial stitches. Large red, brown and blue raffia flowers decorate the sides of the basket and top of the lid with raffia stitching, "Eagle Nest, Bermuda" on lid. Lined with white muslin which also covers false bottom. A series of muslin pockets run around entire circumference inside. Basket holds many spools of thread as well as various other sewing sundries (folding scissors, thimbles, pincushion).

Dimensions: 11.0 x 25.0 x 33.0 cm

Description: A rectangular wooden box, lined with green satin and velvet, fitted inside a sturdy wickerwork basket. There is a hinged leather covered padded lid with a leather flap and a metal clasp which fastens into a plate on the front of the basket. The lid has elastic strap loops to organize contents, and a small elasticised open pocket of green satin at each of front corner of the box. The box contains sewing kit 104.45.0008 and 104.45.0009 which includes various sewing tools, needles, thread, small pieces of fabric, measuring tapes, buttons (some with ornate designs), paper patterns, sequins, a small plastic magnifying glass, a thimble, a length of ribbon embroidered with “P.M” in script, a pocket knife with mother of pearl handle (103.08.0209b) and two cowhide and leather luggage tags which read “Pearl B. Moore Banff Canada”.
