(a) rectangular, solid brass ? backing with cloisonné enameling completely covering the front in a scene of yellow water lilies and green leaves on a blue background. Japanese writing in upper left corner, and across bottom of pin, framed with brass edge. Small safety pin clasp horizontally across back held by narrow metal sleeve.( b) oval, solid silver coloured backing with scene of green mountains under light blue sky with silver clouds, divided in half horizontally with lower half reflecting the mountain scene as in a lake, of light green mountains and dark blue sky. Japanese writing across top edge of pin and along bottom edge, clasp as (a).
