- Two pairs of outer shells to cover gloves or mittens for skiing. (a) tan leather, loose fitting, short shapeless mittens made from three pieces of leather and seamed around sides of hand and around thumb with darker piece of leather welting. Bound with loosely woven canvas at edge and gathered on inside of under wrist with wide strip of elastic. ( b) Khaki canvas, simply shaped, long mittens reinforced with black leather patches on thumb underside, and palm under thumb. Pleat on inside edge of long cuff, and canvas strip with metal buckle attached to other wide for tightening cuff around arm. Strip of dried out elastic to gather underside of wrist.

(a) white background with black snowflake design, 27.0 x 26.0, narrow band of white ribbed knit edging plain stockinette knitted cuff. Dark diamond shaped snowflakes form design around cuff and front of mittens. Palm covered with overall pattern of small dark snowflakes. (b) white ribbed cuffs, 11.0 x 10.0, two large white eight sided snowflakes outlined in black on front, with overall pattern of diamond shaped checks on palm and thumb. (c) red, white and blue with reindeer, 26.0 x 11.5, plain stockinette knit cuff with narrow ribbed edging. Designs of blue reindeer and stylized figures on white background with red bands at the cuffs, and red accents. Thickly padded crown lined with grey cotton fabric. Printed inside crown "Holmenkol luen" On small red paper label "7 1/2 59", on yellow label "S.H. Hagen & Co. a/s Oslo Winter Sports Articles Made in Norway" (b) 28.5x17.0x9.5, as (a) but ear flap lined with light brown fabric and cap lined with beige fabric. (c) 27.0x18.0x10.0, as (a) but rounded visor, ear flap sewn separately inside, with napped beige material lining flap, seams top stitched with orange thread. (d) 27.5x18.0x8.5, as (b) but thin unlined earflap folds to outside of cap and ties above visor with shoestring threaded through two grommet holes in visor.
