- Description
- A component of a switch lantern used on the railroad. It is a black metal sliding panel that, when lifted out, would have given access to the light source at the interior of the lantern. The top of the panel contains a horizontal lip that acts as a handle for sliding the panel out of the lantern. In the centre of this panel is a circular, convex light cover that is made out of plastic. It is translucent and red in colour so that the light emitted by the lantern would be red in colour. Above this light cover there is raised text that reads: "CPR"; and below this light cover there is raised text that reads: "PIPER MONTREAL".
