- Three gold hairpins. (a) two long, wire prongs joined together at top by oval shape, open at centre. Parallel prongs pinched together in two places to almost touch, tips of prongs sharply pointed. (b) as (a), but tips of prongs cut flat, slightly brassier gold. (c) two long, straight curving prongs, joined at top by flat arch. Textured design cut into central 1.8 cm length around each prong, and also at top around arch and extending 1.4 cm down each leg. Small, sharp bit of metal at top of hairpin indicates that a decorative piece there may have been broken off. Ends of prongs have small sharp spikes.
