- Description
- A finely woven, warp faced card-woven cotton sash of many colours with long fringe. One side primarily red with black band through centre, and a series of geometric fret like designs at each end which are worked in white on the black and green blue on the red. 72.0 cm length at middle contains small herringbone pattern which is black and white through the centre, red and green blue at each side. Colours repeated in narrow bands along each side, including yellow, pink and blue additionally. Reverse side of sash contains same patterns but worked with the opposite colours through the weaving. 16.0 cm long fringe at each end is multicoloured warp threads left, which have rolled themselves into ropes.
