- A small rectangular, white, ceramic tray for an artist to mix paint. It has three compartments, the first is empty, the second has a glob of dried burnt sienna/orange (oil ?) paint and the third has a lighter orange that has been mixed with water. There is a residue of green paint that has seeped into a chip in viewer’s right hand top corner. Au verso a circular manufacturer’s label in black; there are two circles, one within the other: the outer “GEOE ROWNEY &CO. ARTISTS’ COLOR & PENCIL MAKERS”.; in the inner circle 51 RATHBONE PLACE AND 10 PERCY ST. LONDON”
