Draper was employed by Imperial Oil Limited in the Leamington field, at Edmonton as manager of the North-West, and at Calgary as manager of the Royalite Oil Company. Draper was a past president of the Lambton-Kent Conservative Association and a member of Petrolia Lodge No. 17, Knights of Pythias and Washington Lodge No. 260 A.F. and A.M.
