- History / Biographical
- Norman Titherington, 1894-1976, was a fire towerman in Banff National Park. Titherington came to Canada from England in 1919 following ranch work in Idaho and World War I service with the British Army. He visited the Rocky Mountains in 1940 and travelled throughout the backcountry on several extended trips. In 1949, he embarked on the seasonal career of a towerman at the Aylmer Fire Tower, serving until 1965
