- Walter Dwight Wilcox, 1869-1949, was an American mountaineer, explorer, writer and businessman who climbed and explored in mountain regions of Canada and the United States. Wilcox was an original member of the American Alpine Club and an honorary member of the Alpine Club of Canada and was the author of numerous papers and books.
