File documents various people, places, and events significant to Banff, including: the old days, Banff Indian Days, Mountain School, Banff Centre, Banff namesake in Scotland, the teahouses at Lake Louise, hot springs, Indigenous regalia and ceremonies, local guides, and Silver City. File also includes personal notes/stories and correspondence between Dorothy and her parents, and several articles from the Banff Crag and Canyon. File consists of 17 b&w prints. Content pertains to members of the Stoney Nakoda community and portraits of various actors who were involved in 1975 film "Buffalo Bill".
The Film "Buffalo Bill and the Indians, or Sitting Bull's History Lesson", was filmed in 1975 and released in 1976. The film was directed by Robert Altman and co-written by Robert Altman and Alan Rudolph. Key stars in the film include Paul Newman (Buffalo Bill), Frank Kaquitts (Sitting Bull), Joel Grey (The Producer), and Kevin McCarthy (The Publicist). Other actors include Harvey Keitel, Allan F. Nicholls, Geraldine Chaplin, John Considine, Fred N. Larsen, Pat McCormick and Burt Lancaster. The movie was filmed on location at the Stoney Nakoda reservation in Morley, Alberta, and many of the film extras were from this community. Stoney Nakoda Chief Frank Kaquitts (Sitting Wind) played the role of Sitting Bull
