- Christmas card sketch, resembling the final version of the 1951 card. Animals gather around Catharine and Peter’s vehicle waiting for Catharine to finish cooking. Peter sits on the roof reading. One of the bears is sitting by a stool with a fork in hand. Near the middle of the bottom edge of the paper it says “BEST WISHES PETER”verso: rectangular box drawn that is blank, that could have been used for another sketch.

- Peter and Catharine are sitting on stools at their easels painting a mountain landscape in front of them. There is a group of animals sitting around them watching them paint. On the bottom edge of the drawing it says “SEASONS GREETINGS 1954 PETER AND CATHARINE”verso: rough sketch of the same drawing that is on the front side. This image though is only of Peter painting, a rough idea of where Catharine would be sitting, and the moose.

- Description
- A flip book-style sketchbook with thick cardstock covers bound with brown fabric tape belonging to Peter Whyte. A decorative coat of arms with “Carnet, Croquis” is printed in black ink in the top left corner of the front cover and a “Made in France” sticker is adhered to the back cover on the fabric tape. Throughout the front and back covers are very faint pencil marks that appear to be math equations. Sketches pertain to boats [there are also 2 photograph prints of boat sketches also done by Peter inserted at the back of the book], figures [mostly First Nations people], a crude map of “Rivers Manitoba,” a hill with buildings and the inscription “Gaspe, June-30-58,” and birds.
