- Dorothy V. Whyte, b.1893, was a Canadian Pacific Railway employee at Banff, Alberta, Canada, until 1939. Whyte came to Banff from the Yukon and was first employed by the Banff Springs Hotel in 1920. She worked as an Information Clerk and later Special Representative for the Canadian Pacific Railway until 1939. She worked in Vancouver until 1963, returning to Banff where she became involved in local affairs before returning to West Vancouver in 1969. While living at the coast, Whyte frequently visited the Mount Assiniboine area and maintained close ties with Banff. Dorothy Whyte is not related to the White/Whyte family of Banff.

- Edward Feuz Jr., 1884-1981, was a Canadian Pacific Railway mountain guide at Lake Louise, Alberta and Glacier and Golden, British Columbia, Canada. Feuz was the son of one of the first Swiss Guides brought to Canada by the Canadian Pacific Railway. He climbed at Field and Glacier House in 1903 with his father and guided during summers from 1905 to 1912, settling that year in the Edelweiss Village at Golden, British Columbia. Until his retirement in the 1950s, he accompanied the finest climbers and was involved in over seventy first ascents of peaks over 3048 metres.

- Aleen Aked was born in England in 1907 and moved with her parents to Ontario in 1910. Aked attended the Ontario College of Art and completed her degree with honours in 1928. Aked travelled to Banff and Lake Louise with her parents in 1939 and documented her activities in a photograph album. Aked died in 2003.

- Elizabeth (Lizzie) Rummel, 1897-1980, was a lodge owner and operator at Banff National Park, Alberta and Mount Assiniboine Provincial Park, British Columbia, Canada. Rummel was born Elisabeth von Rummel to an aristocratic German family. With her mother and sisters, she ranched near Millarville, Alberta, after being stranded there during the First World War. In 1938, Lizzie moved to the mountains and became involved in early ski and backcountry operations. Her forty-two year career in the mountains included: working at Mount Assiniboine Lodge until 1942; managing Skoki Lodge and, at various times, Temple Chalet and Lake Louise Ski Lodge, ca.1943-1950; owning and operating Sunburst Lake Camp, 1950-1970; and working as assistant and oral history interviewer at the Archives of the Canadian Rockies (now the Archives of the Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies) from 1966 to 1980. Lizzie was active in the town affairs of Canmore, Alberta, where she lived, as well as in various conservation and recreation organizations. She became a member of the Order of Canada in 1980.

- Ernest C. W. Lamarque, 1879-1970, was a surveyor, map maker, writer and artist at Vancouver and Oyama, British Columbia, Canada. Lamarque was born in Kent, England and emigrated to the United States in 1896, travelling to Winnipeg in 1897. He worked for the Hudson's Bay Company as a fur trader at Isle a la Crosse, Fort Simpson, Fort McKay and Fort Chipewyan before entering the surveying field in 1907. His survey work took him throughout British Columbia, Alberta and the Yukon. In 1933-1934, he was in charge of the advance party reconnaissance for the Bedaux Subarctic Expedition. He was also involved in Alaska Highway, Royal Canadian Air Force and Whitehorn Mountain ski lift surveys.

- Eben Fulton Dunsmore, 1905?-1943, was a skier and powerhouse operator at Banff, Alberta, Canada. Born in Nova Scotia, Dunsmore came to Banff in 1909 with his parents, Thomas A. Dunsmore, 1876?-1966, and Jennie (Fulton) Dunsmore, d.1956. He also had a sister, Margaret, born ca.1910. An uncle, Arthur Wellesley Dunsmore, lived in Banff from 1910 until 1928. Dunsmore was married to Bessie Dunsmore at the time of his death at the age of thirty-eight. Fulton Dunsmore was an avid skier and hiker, and, with friends Peter Whyte, Cyril Paris and others, was one of the first to use the Mount Norquay area.

- The Galletly family were residents of Canmore and Banff, Alberta, Canada. David Drummond Galletly, 1838-1916, served as caretaker and guide for the Cave and Basin hot springs, 1897-ca.1910. Previously he worked on the construction of the Banff Springs Hotel and operated a hotel in Canmore. At the Cave and Basin, Galletly conducted tours and became known for his Scottish humor. - History / Biographical
- Georgia Engelhard, 1906-1986, was a mountaineer, photographer and writer based at New York, USA and Switzerland. Engelhard was the first child of George Engelhard and Agnes Stieglitz and was the niece of Alfred Stieglitz and his wife Georgia O'Keeffe. Engelhard first visited the Canadian Rockies on a trip with the Trail Riders of the Canadian Rockies at the age of nineteen. She became a well-known climber, making thirty-two first ascents in the Rocky and Purcell Mountains. From 1936 on, Engelhard climbed internationally with Oliver Eaton (Tony) Cromwell, whom she married in 1947. The Cromwells lived in Zermatt, Switzerland for the last thirty years of their lives.

- Fonds consists mainly of Georgia Engelhard's mountaineering photographs pertaining to her climbing career in the European Alps, Canada and the United States, 1940s to 1950s. Photographs are in three series: ; I. Georgia Engelhard photographs, 1940s-1950s, 277 prints; technical and scenic views pertaining to mountaineering in Switzerland, the Canadian Rockies, Italy and the Teton Mountains, U.S.A. European views pertain to the Zermatt region of Switzerland, the Matterhorn, Val d'Herens and the Dolomites (Italy). Includes many photographs illustrating climbing techniques and guide training. Canadian views pertain to the Lake Louise area, Victoria Glacier, Mount Athabasca and other locations. Prints are mainly in numbered series, the contents of which are interrelated.
- II. My Album / Edward C. Porter : album of seventy- two black and white photographs by Porter of climbing and peaks in the Lake O'Hara, Lake Louise, Yoho, Bow Valley, Glacier National Park regions, also several United States locations and fine art studies. Album inscription, dated 1954, contains technical details and dedication to Georgia Engelhard.
