- File pertains to a photograph album depicting a summer 1926 trip organized by Caroline Hinman to the Canadian Rockies and a hunting trip from Wilson's Ranch in September, 1926. The summer trip, made on horseback and by dogsled, began in Seebe, Alberta and ended at Lake Windermere, British Columbia, working through Banff National Park via Lake Louise, Abbot Pass, and the Lake O'Hara region. Includes scenic views of mountains, waterfalls, glaciers, camps, horses, dogs, and people - many of whom are reffered to by their initials or married names (in the case of some women). The hunting trip was possibly organized by Tom Wilson out of his Kananaskis Ranch. The party travelled north in the direction of the Saskatchewan River. Includes pictures of camps, horses, pack trains, snowfall, mountains, rivers, and people - does not include photographs of hunted animals. Also includes a single photograph of The Learned's House in Newbury Port, Massachusetts, enlargements from Rocky Mountain trips, and various cards from The Vincents and Florence Dibell Bartlett. Inserts pertain to overviews/advertisements for two 1927 trips that would have been sent out by Caroline Hinman in advance detailing routes, expectations, and prices.

- Dimitri Georgevitch de Leuchtenberg (1898-1972), Duke of Leuchtenberg was a member of the Franco-Russian Beauharnais house. In 1927 the Marquis Nicholas degli Albizzi invited Dimitri and his wife Catherine (1900-1991) to join him for the summer at the cabin he had subleased from A.O. Wheeler at Mount Assiniboine. Albizzi and Dimitri were cousins. The Duke and Duchess de Leuchtenberg lived in Germany following the Russian Civil War and in 1931 began annual winter trips to Quebec to visit Albizzi and his new winter sports station in Saint-Sauveur-des-Monts in the Laurentians mountains in Quebec. The Duke worked for Albizzi as a ski school instructor. In 1937 he was chosen to be a member of the Canadian Ski School Committee and in 1938 was a founding member of the Ski Instructor's Alliance. In 1939 the Duke de Leuchtenberg bought the Saint-Sauveur station from Albizzi and moved his family permanently to Quebec, Canada.

- File consists of one photograph album, comprising ca. 432 photographs, 10.5 x 16 cm or smaller. Photographs pertain to a trip through Banff to Mount Assiniboine by the Duke Dimitri and Duchess Catherine Leuchtenberg in 1927. Photographs document travel on horseback to the Mount Assiniboine Lodge, hiking up Mount Assiniboine, swimming and boating on Lake Magog, horses, camping, and other leisure activies.

- The album is titled "Kanada 1927" with a photo of Mount Assiniboine on the first page. Not all of the photos in the album are captioned, some are captioned partially or entriely in Russian. Content pertains to a July-August 1943 trip with Trail Riders of the Canadian Rockies which included multiple locations: Banff, Canmore, Spray Lakes, Wonder Pass, Mount Assiniboine, Simpson Summit, Larix Lake, Citadel Pass and Healy Creek. Second half of album pertains to Sky Line Hike Camp trip through Goat Creek and Spray River in August, 1943. Photographs depict group shots of riders on horseback and individuals hiking, swimming, scenic views of mountains, lakes, etc., portraits/individual shots of trip attendees, and views of teepees and campsites. Album also contains 3 newspaper clippings with articles related to trips, Trail Riders ticket for Miss Jeanne Nelson (July 30th - August 3rd, 1943) and 2 small booklets (one pertaining to each of two trips depicted in album). Pamphlet for Trail Riders packing trip is covered in signatures of trip attendees. Photos depict individuals including Carl Rungius, Jeanne Nelson, Wilf Bennett, Jean Stewart, and Peggy Robinson.

Subjects include unidentified local families and individuals, crop harvesting [including bananas, pineapples and cane sugar], livestock, dockyard and wharf scenes, a street carnival and other community events in Havana, city views, Cuba's 1909 presidential inauguration, a mass burial site, cathedrals, landmarks, and botanical gardens. Most items not dated or annotated. Postcard print has personal message addressed to "David" [likely David McDougall] in 1909, and one postcard depicting mass burial site has personal message to David McDougall from Mr. Adam Mackenzie.

Robson Provincial Park, worked southeast through the Tonquin Valley, and then further to the Saskatchewan River. This trip was organized by Caroline Hinman and corresponds with Insert 1. The Septemeber 1928 Hunting Trip may have been organized by a guide named Wilson and began around Sheep River, AB before working into the Pipestone Pass on horseback. Includes photographs of stag and ram heads at what is possibly Gest's home. Also includes enlargements and greeting cards from "fellow-campers." The Summer 1929 trip begins with arriving by boat before heading inland to Verona and Cortina before reaching Austria. From there the party heads into the Alps, includes many photographs of climbers on glaciers. Also includes views of the Matterhorn, Lake Geneva, the Castle of Chiffon, greeting cards, and a newspaper clipping detailing Caroline Hinman's group of ladies crossing the Saskatchewan Glacier [date unknown]. Photographs from this trip are a mix of personal photographs and souvineer photographs. Inserts pertain to overviews/advertisements for the Summer 1928 trip and the Summer 1929 trip that would have been sent out by Caroline Hinman in advance detailing routes, expectations, and prices.

The 1930 Summer Trip started in Switzerland before moving over to England and was most likely a Gest family vacation. Includes photographs taken by Lillian Gest and her travel companions as well as purchased souvineer photographs. Also includes various greeting cards. The July 1931 trip consisted of travel mainly on horseback throught the Mt. Assiniboine area into Wolverine Pass, organized by Caroline Hinman and corresponds with the insert. Due to the limited number of pages dedicated to this trip, it is possibly Lillian Gest only attended part of it before connecting with the Alpine Club of Canada Annual Camp. The Annual Alpine Club of Canada Camp (called the Canadian Alpine Club by Gest), July 21 to August 2, 1931 took place throughout the Lake O'Hara and Prospector's Valley regions of British Columbia. Photographs include scenic views, camps, horses, wildlife, group portraits, Fay Hut, glaciers, and various club activities. Also includes greeting cards from various people who went on trips. Insert pertains to the overview/advertisement for the Summer 1931 trip that would have been sent out by Caroline Hinman in advance detailing routes, expectations, and prices.
