- Ray Wardell, 1922-1994, was an engineer at Banff, Alberta, Canada from 1948 until 1958, and lived at Oakville, Ontario until his death. Wardell worked on early construction at Mount Norquay ski area and rose to the position of Superintendent of Construction and Maintenance for the Banff Chairlift Corporation.

Topics include day to day life, Banff events, visits from friends, painting, photography, wildlife, travel, camping, weather, events and people in Concord, radio programs [mostly news and hockey games], various holidays [both Canadian and American], the Calgary Stampede, Banff Indian Days, Peter getting his new trifocal glasses, trips to Bow Lake [mostly to sketch], hurricans hitting the eastern seaboard in mid-September, sketching trips into British Columbia, a visit to the Campbell's ranch in Cowley, meeting Eric Harvie, construction of the Luxton Musuem [including asking Peter for paintings to hang inside], putting together the annual Christmas card, Edith's 90th birthday in December, and various Christmas activites and parties. Also includes notecards.

- Pertains to the commissioner report on the events carried out by the Provincial Museum of Natural history and Anthropology, during the year of 1948. Published in 1949, the British Columbia Department of Education published the report in an effort to reflect on events from the previous calendar year.
