Scope & Content: File pertains to 80 letters written by Catharine Robb Whyte to her mother, Edith Morse Robb from June 3 to December 31, 1944. Topics include day to day life, Catharine travelling to and from Calgary to meet Pete on weekends [sometimes staying in Calgary, sometimes coming back to Banff], news pertaining to the war [D-Day, the liberation of Rome, the death of Mussolini], Pete's work and movements as part of the RCAF, weather, Catharine's involvement with the Red Cross, painting, radio programs [including operas, news, and sports], visits from friends, cleaning and household chores, gardening and yardwork, wildlife, Banff events, events and people in Concord, the Calgary Stampede, going to the movies, train travel between Banff and Calgary, various holidays [both Canadian and American], the filming of a Lassie movie in Banff National Park in September, going to Ottawa when Pete is reassigned to Air Force Headquarters in October [Catharine goes with him], Catharine going to Concord for November and then returning to Ottawa, Pete and Catharine returning to Banff/Calgary to begin Pete's discharge, and Christmas/New Years Eve parties and activities. Also includes postcards.

Description: This triptych features 6 woman on a boat. The boat emerges from the third panel behind a group of rocks. Coming from this group of rocks in the trc is a tree with white blossoms which hangs over the boat, and into the second panel. The boat stretches through the second panel and ends with a sharp tip halfway into the first panel. The women are all in the second and third panels. 5 women are sitting under a covered top, and one woman is standing outside of this covered top with her hand on the ceiling, and her head turned to the left. Dimensions: 36.0 x 71.25 cm

Description: This triptych features three women: one per panel. In the first panel is a woman standing holding a rope which is cut of by the edge of paper. Her head is facing right and down looking into the second panel where the rope she is holding is attached to a cart. This cart contains a very large basket of flowers, and a women is crouching down by the cart holding a beautiful red scarf. The carts wheel goes into the third panel where a woman holding a small child stands. This woman’s body is facing towards the right, but her head turned down and to the left to view the cart. There is no background in any of the scenes, except for a blossoming tree behind the cart.

Description: This triptych features four women spread across three panels with Mt. Fuji softly in the background. A stretch of bushes separated the women from the background and is mostly grey. The lone Mt. Fuji is the only background with paper tone behind it. In the first panel Mt. Fuji starts and two women stand with their bodies facing eachother. The smaller woman is pointing at Mt. Fuji. In the second panel a woman stands in the rc, her body facing right and her head turned back to the left. She has her back to the mountain which is mostly featured in the second panel. In the third panel a woman sits on a bench facing left with her hand by her chest. A lamp is to the left of her bench. The ground the woman are on is mostly paper tone with a light wash.

Scope & Content: Scrapbook consists of newspaper clippings pertaining to King George VI's coronation and Queen Elizabeth; newspaper clippings relating to British West Indies, Australia and other Empire colonies as well as related stories. Scrapbook also includes articles relating to King George VI and family. Also included are two file folders containing:; four postcards bearing images of the King and Queen's visit to Belfast, troops inspections and two publications titled: "Their Majesties' Canadian Visit, 1939" and a timetable of Pilot train and boats and itinerary of activities [placed in a mylar sleeve and file folder].; booklet and b&w photographs relating to King George VI and Queen Elizabeth's Royal Visit, 1939 [placed in a file folder].
