Description
Boxed off is a study of balance. There are six separate drawings to emphasis balance in architecture, specifically windows. Behind and above are trees, a patch of grey sky in the upper right corner and a purple mountain face in the upper left.The painting was originally given by the artist, to Syd Graves (who managed Lake O’Hara for many years). It was then given to Bill Brewster, who gave it to Rita Crick, who gave it to the Peter Whyte Gallery.

Description
A matched cup and saucer. The cup is straight sided most of way down from the lip and then slants in to a narrower base. Both pieces have a band of curlicues that forms a narrow band around the rim of the saucer and inside the rim of the cup. The cup and saucer are decorated with a scene of a Chinese gate, bridge, birds, and trees covering the face of the saucer and the outside of the cup. Both pieces are marked “Royal Albert Crown China, Made in England” and the cup also has “#6465”.

Description
Two fragments of glazed earthenware tiles, (a) an end piece with one original border which reveals the original shape of the tile to be arabesque-like, the upper right side curves inward in an arc shape, the outer edge is coloured in an aqua-marine blue with a thin rust-orange border on front side, surface has white ground with deep cobalt blue flowers and delicate stems, green leaves and two rust-orange flowers, the same rust colour is applied as contrast to leaves and blue flowers, the colours have run slightly under the glaze ( b) is a corner fragment, too small to distinguish design; colours used are blue green and a dull gold on a white ground, designs are raised and outlined in unglazed clay.
