Includes conference paper by Thomas: "British visitors' perceptions of the west 1885-1914", referring to the Rockies and Selkirks and writings by others re mapping, William Pearce and history of Athabasca Pass. Photographs pertain to the dedication of a memorial to John Murray Gibbon at the Banff School of Fine Arts, Banff, Alberta, 1955.
