Description
A field thermometer in a long narrow wooden box case with a brass ring at the top for hanging, and a small brass latch hook to secure the thermometer which slides into the box forming the lid when closed in place. The sliding piece can be reversed to display a glass tube mercury-filled thermometer attached to a brass plaque scaled from 10o to 120o (Fahrenheit). The inside of the case is marked “183” in pencil and there is a brass plaque on the box labelled “Charles Wilder Co. N.Y.” and “Williams, Brown and Earle Phila”.

Description
A pair of binoculars (a) in a case (b).a) A pair of black leather binoculars with a brass frame and plastic eyepieces. A hinge on the arm at the middle adjusts the lenses to eye width. The focus is adjusted by a large notched plastic wheel on the arm. Further adjustment can be made by twisting the right eyepiece, with a scale reading “_5 0 + 5”. A narrow leather strap is attached to brass eyes on the body of the binoculars On the left side is “Voigtlander & Sohn Braunschweig & London No. 3380”b) The binocular case is tan-coloured leather with a flip top lid that is secured with a strap that buckles through a leather covered buckle on the front. There are leather straps on the back, to secure the case to a belt, and a neckstrap attached to the sides of the case. The case is lined with red velvet and built up inside to fit the binoculars securely. The case bears the handwritten initials “-.H.W.” and a date (1911?).

Description
A pair of binoculars (a) in a case (b).a) A pair of Telact 8X (magnification) field binoculars. The eyepieces are black plastic with adjustment rings and a marked scale on each. The lenses at the front are encased in black coloured brass. The binoculars have a long thin leather hanging strap. The name “P.A. Moore” is written on the metal by both of the lenses.b) A tan leather case curved to fit binoculars with a flip top which can be secured with a strap through the leather covered buckle at the front of the case. The case has a long adjustable neck strap with a leather covered buckle attached through narrow straps to brass lugs on each side of the case. A narrow leather strap is secured across the top, and wider leather strap is across the back. The inside of the case is built up to fit binoculars and lined with red velvet. A small leather pocket inside at the back holds an adjustment pin for the binoculars. The case has “P. Moore” stamped on the lid.

Description
A compass with a round face set into a square aluminum frame. The face is marked with a line every thirty degrees with an arrow at North. The magnetic compass needle is half red (indicates North) and half black to blend in with the face, which is set into a ring calibrated at five degree intervals from zero to three hundred and sixty degrees and is adjustable with another ring to set magnetic North. The square frame has a two inch scale along one side and a 1:50,000 map scale in miles on the opposite with two square loops of aluminum on the other two sides. The back panel of the compass is black plastic with a chart of several map scales converted to inches on a map and distance in feet. A leather thong is tied to one side loop and passes through a hole in the bottom of a crudely sewn square soft leather pouch which slides up and down on the thong. The initials “DJ” are burned into one side of the pouch and the letters “N”, “E”, “S”, and “W” with an arrow pointing North are burned into the other side.

A plastic, four-litre bottle with a handle and a green, screw-on, hard-plastic top. There is a piece of lightweight, corded rope wound around and tied to the handle.
