- Scope & Content
- Album consists of Valborg M. Rogstad Photograph Album. The album appears to be a Vernon Album from Kodak: loose-leaf style, genuine leather cover with alligator finish, dark brown in colour, “Photographs” stamped in gold on the cover, and brown tie rope that passes through 2 holes on the left edge to keep leaves secure. Album contains 74 pages, 24 of which would have been purchased separately in extra packs. 4 of the pages are not attached to the album itself. The 4 loose pages have been housed in separate mylar sleeves. Photographs feature places such as Banff, Lake Louise, Johnston Canyon, Moraine Lake, Spiral Tunnels, Kicking Horse, Emerald Lake, Glacier B.C., Nooksack River, Sidney & Victoria B.C., Columbia River Highway, Washington, Oregon, Rainier National Park, Yellowstone, Catskill Mountains, and Bermuda. Subjects include mountains, wildlife, lakes, oceans, ships, waterfalls, hotels, roads, highways, and hiking scenes. Album contains ca. 32 postcards featuring scenes and locations in the White Mountain area of New Hampshire and the Columbia River Highway: 1 annotated, handwritten, addressed to Val from friend. The photos and postcards are tipped in with photo corners.
