- History / Biographical
- Banff Winter Carnival, also known as Winter Sports of the Canadian Rockies, was the first post-war winter sports programme held in Banff, Alberta. The organization had Banff directors, Calgary directors and Directors-at-large from Alberta and outside the province. A wide variety of social and sports events took place under the organization's direction.

- A pair of very thick, heavy, tan coloured commercially made mittens. Very elastic short, 3.0 cm cuff. Knitted all around with a series of fake cables with threads carried across on the inside to add to the thickness and warmth. Plain stockinette stitch thumb.

Cuff flares slightly, and is edged with a thick band of decorative white stitching. Embroidered simple red flower with green leaves on front of wrist. (b) grey sealskin , very wide, unfitted mittens cut from three pieces of skin in the same manner as (a). Skin on palm turned so that fur is inside and hide outside. Small cuff of darker fur, thumb is very wide and triangular.
